Software Engineer, Full Stack

We are looking for an enthusiastic full stack software engineer
to build tools and services that help us develop and manage Yellowbrick
analytical databases.
Good tooling is key for a productive engineering organization. The
main focus of this team is to develop solutions for building, testing,
deploying, and monitoring Yellowbrick systems. Developers, testers, support
engineers, and others will use systems you build to do their jobs more
effectively.
A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT DO
- Build an internal platform for managing
Yellowbrick systems as well as other services
- Design solutions for managing ~1 PB of raw
data
- Improve monitoring of internal systems, as
well as customer clusters in the field
- Build custom tools to help tests the
Yellowbrick data warehouse
- Develop intuitive user interfaces for the
tools you build
- Improve internal build systems and reduce
developer feedback cycle
- Travel to our various engineering sites as
required
A FEW
THINGS WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- A positive attitude and a willingness to
learn
- Prior experience building and running
production online services
- Proficiency in at least one of Ruby,
Python, or Go
- Proficiency in web technologies and
frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Express, or Flask
- Comfortable in a Linux environment
- Experience with software development
practices including using source control, unit testing, continuous
integration, and test-driven development
A FEW THINGS THAT ARE NICE TO HAVE
- Interested in using configuration
management and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet,
SaltStack or Terraform
- A basic understanding of SQL databases
(expertise in database internals not required)
- Testing, setup and configuration
of monitoring/alerting tooling (Prometheus, ELK stack, Grafana, etc).
