Dr. Chris Curran (Associate Professor,
College of Education) is seeking to hire 1-2 undergraduate students with
expertise in web scraping to support an ongoing research project focusing on
issues of school safety and the use of law enforcement in schools. The
ideal student(s) is one that has experience in developing web scraping tools
and can take initiative and complete work independently. Knowledge of R
or Python is preferable, though other experience with web scraping tools may
substitute. Undergraduate research assistants will be able to work
remotely and should expect to dedicate 10-15 hours per week to the role.
The position is short-term, extending through mid-Summer, but is paid ($16 per
hour). Interested students should email a description of their experience
with web scraping and a copy of their resume to Dr. Curran at chriscurran@coe.ufl.edu
