My name is Jordan Brown, and I am a Finance student here at UF. I am looking for 3 Computer Science students to work as developers on an app for a business that I and another student have. We are members of the Gator Hatchery. The app is already under development, but we are looking to hire new developers to continue the app as the previous ones are not able to finish due to entering full time employment. We are also looking to bring on a CTO to manage the developer team as well as lead in other tech related areas. The app is a social media platform that is comparable to Instagram but serves a different purpose. Thus far, the previous developers have completed or begun working on:
- Authentication
with Firebase, signing in, signing out, password reset
- Basic UI for
profiles, edit profile page, posts, image/video loading and cropping, post
creation pages, tabs, and some other small UI things
- Integration
with Firebase for editing and creating profiles, uploading and downloading
posts
- Partially
completed integration with Firebase for dynamically loading "home
view" posts of followed users and own posts.
Any
new developers brought onboard would be fully apprised of the app details as
well as walked through the current code by the previous developers. Although
the previous developers accomplished a lot, some things will need to be re
written and others can be built upon. Our main goal is to have the app to be
fully functional, but we prefer to have developers that would be able to
continue working past the completion of the app to continue to make
improvements.
Preferred
Qualifications
- iOS experience, UIKit or SwiftUI, Obj-C or Swift
- Backend
experience (integrating with some kind of database)
- Good at and
enjoy writing business logic for applications
- Experience
with dynamically loading images and/or streaming videos
- C or
C++
- Multithreading,
async, concurrency, etc.
- Preferred to have a mac (much better experience than a cloud mac)
- Ability to
work in the U.S.
- Ability
to work virtually
