About the team/job
We are looking for motivated and
qualified graduate students to join the Precision and Intelligent System in
medicine (PRISMAP) partnership at the Department of Medicine at
University of Florida as a Volunteer (1-2 months) and then as an OPS. Our group
works on wide range of topics in medical informatics and data science in
healthcare with a current focus on developing artificial intelligence platforms
for augmented decision making in healthcare.
Your role
Your role would be to develop
and validate algorithms using multi-modal high-fidelity omics data derived from
molecular analyses that includes mRNA, miRNA and metabolomics as well as other
healthcare data (electronic health records, vital signs time series, sensor
data) by data integration, data analysis using machine learning and deep
learning. Data will mostly come from
various internal clinical projects with patients and healthy individuals.

Amazon and Google, and some have pursued successful academic career.
What else do I need to know
Precision and Intelligence in
Medicine (PRISMAP) is an innovative and interdisciplinary
research partnership of experts in the field of data science, clinical
informatics and autonomic networks in the Colleges of Engineering and Medicine
at University of Florida. The strength of this team stems from the unique
proximity between the researchers in engineering, computer science and medicine
to implement advances in data science in hospital care. We are supported with
the grants from NIH and NSF and other independent sources. We have fully
functional intelligent platform for real-time predictive analytics and decision
support in clinical environment that puts us on the edge of the research in the
next-generation of clinical decision support tools. Our mission is to offer
vital services in training scientists, students and visitors at all levels; to
develop new instruments and methods in the medical informatics and data science
and to improve healthcare experience for both providers and users.
