Ever thought about a faculty position? Looking for an engineering postdoc? Dreaming of becoming a research professor or maybe a lecturer? Not sure where to start or what to ask? Then this class is for you!
The objectives of this 1-credit experiential course are to:
- compare/contrast career paths for engineering doctoral
degree holders in industry, research labs, and academia
- introduce the academic hiring process and
assist students in navigating that process
- explain the qualifications/expectations that
academic institutions are seeking in new faculty and help students
document those qualifications
- develop professional, leadership, and management
skills to maximize future success
