PRISMAP Research Assistant OPS

 About the team/job

We are looking for motivated and qualified graduate students with experience in reinforcement learning to join the Precision and Intelligent System in medicine (PRISMAP) partnership at the Department of Medicine at University of Florida. The student can work as a research assistant or as an OPS if selected. Our group works on wide range of topics in medical informatics and data science in healthcare with a current focus on developing artificial intelligence platforms for augmented decision making in healthcare. 

 

Your role

Your role would be to develop and validate reinforcement algorithms using highly granular electronic health records data derived from Integrated Data Repository.  You will be involved in data integration, data processing, and development and validation of reinforcement algorithms, production of results for progress reports, presentations, and manuscripts.

 

Expectations

·       Enrolled in or completed a Masters or PhD degree program in Computer & Information Science & Engineering Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Bioinformatics  (or a related field)  

·        Proven data science and informatics skills

·        Experience in reinforcement learning

·        Experience with machine learning libraries and programming languages (Python, R)

·        Experience in deep learning using TensorFlow/PyTorch/Keras. 

·        Experience in data integration, statistical analysis and visualization, e.g. in Python or R

·        Experience with Linux/UNIX systems

·        Ability to work both independently and in a team

·        Willingness to learn new skills as projects require
